challenging web analytics and SEM analytics projects, and contributes to many of the research and
design initiatives which lead to Semphonic's software and consulting solutions.
Paul holds a B.A. from Harvard, and a Ph.D. and Masters Degrees from the University
of Michigan. During his 10 years in academia, he conducted extensive qualitative and quantitative
analyses in many fields, and gained considerable experience in web design, data management, and
statistical analysis. In 1998 he began to expand out of academia and worked as a data analyst and
research consultant in public education, at the Center for the Social Organization of Schools in
Baltimore, MD. There he oversaw the design, processing, and analysis of hundreds of thousands of
surveys and tests, quadrupling the center's data capture and reducing data processing operating costs
by 50%. While on a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University, he joined Semphonic in 2004 and is
now based in Boston, MA, working with clients up and down the East Coast.
